‘Where There’s a Will Is a Way” Fully Assembled Cutty Sark Sailing Ship Model 65cm

AUD $359.50

A replica of legendary British mid-19th-century merchant sailing vessel Cutty Sark, this stunning clipper ship model captures the quintessential features of Cutty Sark:  narrow for its length, a large total sail area. Not powered by steam, Cutty Sark served as one of the quickest tea clippers ever built on the tea trade between China, the Far East and United Kingdom and the wool trade with Australia.

Cutty Sark was built in 1869 for the Jock Willis Shipping Line. John ‘Jock’ Willis (1791–1862) joined ships sailing along the British coast after having run away from his home, when he was 14 years old. The ship’s motto, ‘Where there’s a will is a way’, originally a pun on the family name, represents  the energy and resilience this wooden model ship can brings to inspire our life.

The history of this ship makes it a great gift for any one whose family came from Scotland.
